UK Forecast: Plenty of cloud – Mainly dry, May 19 – 16:58

Saturday Some outbreaks of rain strecthing from southern Ireland, through parts of west and north wales and into northern England this morning. This area of rain tending to fade into the afternoon. Plenty of cloud through southern England and Wales, although there wil be a few bright spells coming through here and there, although little change is expected into the afternoon. North of the rain area, Scotland and Northern Ireland wil have a fair amount of cloud throughout the day and it should be largely dry. A few sunny spells for northern and eastern areas. Highs at a milder 17C in southern England, 9C in northern Scotland.

Saturday Night There is the chance of some more persistent rain slipping through southeast England through tonight, although confidence in this is considered low. Elsewhere the night is likely to be largely cloudy but dry, although with an increasing risk of some drizzle in more central parts of England. Scotland and Ireland as well as the far north of England may be drier with clearer spells developing. A frost under the clearer skies to the north at -1C, nearer 9C in southern England.

Sunday A warm front moving west into East Anglia and southeast England on Sunday with an area of high pressure extending front northern Scotland through Ireland. The front will be bringing cloud and drizzle or light rain to much of central, southern and eastern England. Some drizzle in eastern Wales too, but drier to the west. Some drizzle in northeast England, but for northwest England, Scotland and Ireland the day will be drier with the best of any sunshine in central and northern Scotland. Highs at 12 to 16C.

Monday A warm front bringing cloudy and moist air through England and Wales, producing some outbreaks of rain and drizzle. This should be fading through the day. Further drizzle for northeastern England, although the west should be staying dry. More sunshine to come across Scotland and Ireland with plenty of dry weather here throughout the day. Highs at a warm 18C in the south, 14C in the far north of Scotland.

A cloudy and windy day with periods of rain at times Good morning, Low pressure and a brisk northeast wind is bringing a cloudy start to the day for most of the UK and Ireland. There will be periods of rain through this morning for much of England, Wales, Ireland and southern Scotland. There could be some heavier periods of rain across northern England, north Wales and eastern Ireland. Windy through northern England and southern Scotland.

Little change through this afternoon with more cloud and periods of rain across north wales, northern England and Ireland as well as southern Scotland. Some heavy showers developing across southern England as warmer air arrives here this afternoon. Some showers breaking out across northern Scotland as well.

More rain through northern England and Ireland tonight with drier and milder air to the south. Staying cooler in northern Scotland with broken cloud here.
